Who is Capitalization Game for?
The main practice path is designed for Grades 1–5. Younger learners, English learners, families, and teachers can also use it when the sentence level is appropriate.
How does a game work?
Choose a desk, edit five sentences, and check your work. After each answer, the game shows the exact correction and the rules involved before you move on.
Which capitalization rules are included?
Sentence starts, the pronoun I, people and place names, days and months, holidays, titles of works, quotations, and acronyms such as NASA.
Is it free and does a student need an account?
The game is free to use and does not require a student account. Local progress stays in the current browser.
Can teachers create a practice set?
Yes. Teachers can enter the exact correct and practice versions of their sentences, preview the set, and share an encoded link. Do not include names or other personal information.
How is the score calculated?
A correct edit earns a base score adjusted for the selected difficulty and the number of rules in the sentence. There is no hidden speed bonus, so learners can read the feedback.
What is stored?
Recent sessions, score, streak, and preferences are stored in localStorage on this device. This version does not load Google Analytics or advertising scripts.
Is there a UK English version?
Yes. The UK route uses capital letters and capitalisation wording for KS1/KS2. Title questions still follow one consistent house style.
